Business Events Tasmania congratulates industry partner Peppers Silo Hotel on their win in the Business Events Venue category at the Tasmanian Tourism Awards held in Hobart over the weekend. This category recognises venues who provide high quality facilities specifically for business events.

A number of Tasmania’s key business events products were honoured at the annual awards, with the following Business Events Tasmania members taking home gold:

Major Tourism Attraction – Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens

Cultural Tourism Award – The Henry Jones Art Hotel

Major Tour & Transport Operators – Pennicott Wilderness Journeys 

Tourism Restaurants & Catering Services – Mures Tasmania

4 – 4.5 Star Accommodation – MACq 01 Hotel

5 Star Accommodation – Saffire Freycinet

Acknowledging his significant impact on the Tasmanian tourism industry, in particular his contribution to the success of Mona, Mark Wilsdon was awarded the 2021 Tasmanian Tourism Champion.

Not to be forgotten, Business Events Tasmania claimed silver in the Tourism Marketing Campaigns category.

The Tasmanian Tourism Awards are the premier awards program in the Tasmanian tourism industry. The Awards are designed to encourage and recognise innovation, excellence, quality and sustainability in tourism, while providing a benchmark for industry best practice.

Coordinated by the Tourism Industry Council Tasmania each year for, and on behalf of, the Tasmanian tourism industry, the Tasmanian Tourism Awards form part of the prestigious Australian Tourism Awards. By winning a Tasmanian Tourism Award, the state’s most outstanding local operators attain national recognition, automatically becoming a finalist in the Australian Tourism Awards.
