Dom Baker
Chair
Dom has over 25 years’ experience in management at a range of iconic Tasmanian organisations, including as General Manager of the Cascade Brewery, multiple General Manager roles with the Federal Group and his current role of Chief Executive Officer at Cricket Tasmania. Dom has served as director of several organisations, including AFL Tasmania, the Tasmanian Hospitality Association, and the Australian Liquor Stores Association.
Throughout his career he has shown a strong commitment to Tasmania, working tirelessly to grow the island’s key strategic industry sectors – a commitment that led him to Business Events Tasmania.

Andrew Fox
Director
An hospitality manager with extensive experience in hotel and casino operations in both city and resort properties, Andrew’s career has spanned both Australian and international properties. Currently the General Manager at Wrest Point, Andrew brings this extensive experience in event management, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement to the BET Board. With his background allowing him to offer valuable insights into the unique needs and challenges of hosting business events in Tasmania, as well as contribute innovative ideas to further develop Tasmania’s reputation as a premier destination for business events.

Frances Hutchinson
Director
Twice named Marketer of the Year by Audi Australia, Frances has a proven track record of melding creativity and strategy to bring about positive outcomes. She is the Director of Marketing at The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel and is on the board at Variety Tasmania where she works to help Tasmanian children and families when they need it most.
Frances brings to the Business Events Board an invaluable background in marketing and communications offering insight in ways to best market Tasmania as a premium destination.

Matthew Cocker
Director
Chief Operating Officer at Hobart International Airport, Matt has formerly held positions at Darwin International Airport, Adelaide Airport and Qantas. Through this work in the highly regulated aviation industry, Matt is equipped with valuable capability in understanding and navigating policy and regulatory environments.
Alongside this, his roles on both the Tourism Industry Council of Tasmania and the Australian Airports Association Boards bring further knowledge regarding issues that assist in building the strategic picture for the business events industry.
As a proud Tasmanian, Matt has built a strong network within the industry – both locally and nationally – and understands deeply what makes this island such a unique destination.

Paula Leishman
Director
Managing Director of one of Australia’s leading conference and event management companies – Leishman Associates – Paula Leishman has gained a level of experience and insight only available to those who have worked in the space for the better part of three decades. She brings the perspective of the buyer looking to Tasmania has a destination allowing us to ensure we stay aligned with exactly what’s important and appeals to them.
By being part of the Business Events Tasmania board, Paula feels she can help us achieve our goals of selling the bigger picture and to provide opportunities for the supply chain that has built up around the business events sector.

Sarah Clark
Director
A leader in the tourism industry, specialising in travel and marketing across multiple continents, Sarah Clark is the CEO of Tourism Tasmania. Sarah’s resume includes time spent working at Intrepid Travel (the world’s largest adventure travel company) and as well as a number of senior roles including leading the global youth business as Global General Manager and as Vice President for STA Travel in Dallas – leading strategy for air, product, marketing and online performance.
She is an established leader with broad industry experience, from working in front-line roles to trade, marketing and general management. Her deep understanding of sustainable travel from an industry operator and customer perspective means that she is able to provide us with valuable information and guidance in this area, helping us create a positive impact.

Tom McDevitt
Director
Tom has developed extensive experiences and networks in the event, tourism & hospitality industries, along with a comprehensive familiarity and understanding of Tasmanian food & beverage, goods & services.
He founded TM Management Group – a specialist Tasmanian venue & event management company – and business profile includes a successful role as the Sales & Operations Manager of the Princes Wharf 1 venue. During this time, Tom has built strong relationships with many clients, fostering beneficial partnerships.
Tom brings his energy, knowledge and enthusiasm to the business events industry and is determined to help us deliver experiences that exceed expectations and assist the continuation of the momentum Tasmania currently has.
