Located five minutes from central Hobart, the 14-hectare Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens’ are the second oldest in Australia. The Gardens have a range of event spaces that can cater for all types of event requirements. These include two main conference rooms, various indoor and outdoor cocktail function locations, along with sprawling lawns that are suitable for large marquee functions. Our conferencing spaces are suitable for small to mediums groups, with the Conservatory and Lily Pond both versatile locations for outdoor cocktail functions. The Gardens recommend engaging an external supplier to assist with event management and styling.
The onsite Botanical store showcases locally Tasmanian made and brand aligned items, including exclusive seed packs and plants grown at the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. Tailored gifts packs can be arranged as gifts for speakers and delegates.

Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens’ multiple event spaces can be arranged in a number of layout designs as required. The indoor event spaces include; the Conservatory for larger cocktail events of up to 200 people, The Pod for small meetings or workshops up to 20 people, and the Banksia Room suitable for meetings of up to 40 people. Outside, the sprawling lawns and Lily Pond have the ability to host unique events and stunning events.
Eat & Drink
The Sprout Café and Succulent Restaurant are located close to the event spaces and provide indoor and outdoor seating, with stunning views across the gardens and Derwent River. Catering is available through the restaurant or guests to the gardens are welcome to organise their catering or self-cater.
