2025 North America Famil Recap: Southern Tasmania in Two Days
Hot off the back of Australia Next, Business Events Tasmania was proud to welcome a group of 14 key decision-makers and event planners from across North America to Lutruwita / Tasmania for a two-day familiarisation program (Thursday 4 – Friday 5 December 2025).
Supported by Business Events Australia, the program was designed to showcase the breadth of Lutruwita / Tasmania’s business events offering—from signature on-water experiences and cultural connection, to standout venues, local produce, and inspiring itinerary options across the state. Over two packed days, our guests experienced a curated selection of Tasmanian members and partners, building fresh knowledge and strong connections that will help inspire future business events on the island.
Day 1 Highlights
The program began with arrivals into Hobart before guests stepped straight into an on-water experience, setting the tone with Lutruwita / Tasmania’s natural beauty and sense of place. The group then enjoyed a warm welcome and relaxed long lunch overlooking the channel at Peppermint Bay, followed by an afternoon with a celebrated local maker and a deeper dive into Hobart’s waterfront stories.
The day concluded with check-in at one of Australia’s leading luxury hotels before guests came together for cocktails and a private shared dinner, showcasing Hobart’s hospitality at its best.
Day 2 Highlights
Day two opened with breakfast amongst Hobart’s historic waterfront before the group headed out for a uniquely Tasmanian wildlife encounter. A behind-the-scenes distillery experience followed, pairing premium spirits with a long lunch in an atmospheric setting.
In the afternoon, guests explored one of Australia’s most iconic cultural attractions and returned to Hobart by ferry—an experience that’s as memorable as it is event-ready. The program wrapped with an incredible dinner at a distillery venue, complete with Tasmanian whisky, signature cocktails and live acoustic entertainment.
