Based in the original 1900’s tram workshops at the Inveresk Precinct, the Tramsheds is located at the heart of Launceston’s rail history. Originally three long workshops, the venue has been transformed – firstly into the Tasmanian Rail Institute until the early 2000’s, and then into a modern function centre, with multiple rooms and spaces for any event.
At the Tramsheds Function Centre they offer an events venue that goes above and beyond. Located in the heart of Launceston, a short walk from the major hotels, and are situated in the historic Inveresk precinct, now home to QVMAG, University of Tasmania, and multiple award-winning food venues. Our event spaces are filled with state of the art technical facilities, high density wifi, and are filled with natural light. Able to collborate with the vounteer-run Tramway Museum to facilitate tours for event guests, including tram rides.
