The Tasman Awarded One of the World’s Best
Hobart’s The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel, has been listed in 49th place in the global ranking of The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2024 list released in London.
The World’s 50 Best Hotels list celebrates industry-defining hotels from across six continents and is collated from the votes of 600 anonymous experts that comprise a voting panel made up of hoteliers, travel journalists, educators and seasoned luxury travellers.
As for The Tasman, it is a showcase of understated elegance by design, an architectural symphony; an overture of 1840s Georgian heritage, building to 1940s Art Deco, and a 2020s modern extension finale. Its original sandstone contrasts spectacularly with a glass-encased prism of modern architecture.
With the hotel offering 152 guest rooms and suites it is also home to Peppina, a signature restaurant operated by renowned Tasmanian chef Massimo Mele. Drawing inspiration from the Italian way of celebrating food, family and friends, in a space that is made for dining trattoria-style. The Peppina team embodies the big-hearted nature of Italian feasting, intensified by a detailed knowledge of their craft and what this island state can bring – literally – to the table.
