The Ball & Chain Grill is situated in a beautiful convict-built sandstone building in the heart of historic Salamanca Place.
From an intimate private dining room for eight to a seated dinner for 80, the Ball and Chain has several customisable spaces that can deliver an authentic Tasmanian experience, within five minutes’ walking distance of the CBD. Diners enjoy quality Tasmanian grass-fed beef, with steaks being the restaurant specialty, in addition to fresh market seafood that docks daily just two minutes from the front door. We know our suppliers by name, we know where they farm, fish and make and we put complete faith in the quality they deliver.

Right in the heart of Hobart’s entertainment precinct Salamanca Place and within easy walking distance of the CBD and major conferencing venues, the Ball and Chain Grill offers superb dining and function spaces for any business event.
Located above the main dining room, the restaurant’s three function spaces allow for privacy with the largest room accommodating up to 80 seated or 100 cocktail style.
