Terms and Conditions – Game of Chance Competition
1. Introduction
1.1. The promoter of this competition is Business Events Tasmania, located at 16 Collins Street, Hobart (“the Promoter”).
1.2. Participation in the competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
2. Eligibility
2.1. Entry is open to all registered attendees of the Professional Conference Organiser’s Association (PCOA) Conference 2024 held at The Star, Brisbane, who are aged 18 years or over.
2.2. Employees of the Promoter and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
2.3. Participants must be present at the PCOA Conference 2024 to be eligible to win.
3. Competition Period
3.1. The competition opens at midday (12:00 PM AEST) on 1 December 2024.
3.2. The competition closes at midday (12:00 PM AEST) on 3 December 2024.
4. How to Enter
4.1. To enter the competition, participants must scan the provided QR code and subscribe to The Promoter’s online newsletter including a name, email and mobile phone number.
4.2. Only one (1) entry per person is permitted.
5. Prize
5.1. There is one (1) prize to be won, valued at $150.
5.2. The prize is a Tasmanian gift hamper.
5.3. The prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
6. Prize Draw
6.1. The winner will be selected at random from all valid entries received during the Competition Period.
6.2. The draw will take place at 12:30 PM AEST on 3 December 2024 at the Tasmania stand, The Star, Brisbane.
6.3. The Promoter’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
7. Winner Notification and Prize Collection
7.1. The winner will be notified by mobile phone (text) immediately after the draw using the contact details provided at the time of entry.
7.2. The winner must present themselves at the Tasmania stand at The Star, Brisbane by 3:00 PM (AEST) on 3 December 2024 to claim their prize.
7.3. If the winner fails to present themselves to claim the prize by the specified time, the prize will be forfeited, and no alternative prize will be awarded.
8. Privacy
8.1. The Promoter collects personal information for the purpose of conducting the competition.
8.2. All entries become the property of the Promoter.
8.3. The Promoter will handle personal information in accordance with Australian privacy laws and its own Privacy Policy.
9. General
9.1. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process or who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
9.2. The Promoter is not responsible for any technical malfunctions or failure related to the competition.
9.3. The Promoter reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or amend the competition and these Terms and Conditions without notice, subject to relevant state/territory regulations.
9.4. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Australia, and participants submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
10. Limitation of Liability
10.1. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the prize except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
