Art at Cradle Mountain

The Wilderness Gallery is an extensive 12-room experience on the edge of the UNESCO Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area – within the Cradle Mountain Hotel.

The ‘Artist in Residency’ program offers artists from around the world an opportunity to come to Cradle Mountain and be inspired by its magical wilderness.

“Most of the artists are keen to meet and talk to delegates about their work. We currently have a sound artist who is doing performances throughout the property and Cradle Mountain – people love it. Other artists show visitors the work they are making or include them in the making process,” explains Kylie.

There are plenty of other group activities to be experienced in the area, including scenic helicopter flights, night time wildlife spotting, guided walks, canyoning, caving, photographic workshops, mountain bike riding and fly fishing.
