Tassie just got bigger

The hotel landscape in Hobart is rapidly changing with a number of big brands opening in the waterfront city.

Crowne Plaza opened its doors in July, Vibe Hotel Hobart followed suit in late November and Australia’s first Mövenpick hotel welcomed guests from last Friday. When The Tasman, a Marriott Luxury Collection hotel opens in October, the city’s hotel offering will have increased by 750 luxury rooms.

As is the norm in Hobart, all hotels are situated in, or within easy walking distance of the CBD and Hobart’s famous waterfront, with conferencing venues, offsite options and group experiences so very easily accessible.

All properties draw on aspects of Tasmania’s rich history and culture through design, interiors and cuisine, resulting in a uniquely Tasmanian experience.

Business Events Tasmania CEO Marnie Craig welcomes the new additions. “As industry confidence grows post-COVID, and groups plan to meet again in 2021, we’re seeing huge interest in these internationally regarded properties.

“New properties are always appealing to our market, but these high-end hotels come at a particularly opportune time as interest in Hobart for corporate and incentive travel groups is at an unprecedented high.

“The four new hotels add another layer to the Tasmanian business events experience, and we look forward to event planners and delegates experiencing it for themselves.”
