They provide a range of event services, from wine tastings to delegate gift packs. Bangor is an historic 6,000-hectare property farmed by Matt and Vanessa Dunbabin’s family since 1890. Matt, a 7th-generation farmer and Australian Farmer of the Year, along with Vanessa and the Bangor team, are available on-site or off-site to conduct wine tastings and deliver engaging talks and presentations about Bangor’s award-winning property, history, and environmental work.
With the site of Abel Tasman’s 1642 landing, early European exploration, convict history, and millennia of Aboriginal heritage, Bangor offers a unique and entertaining perspective on Tasmanian history. Their 5,000 hectares of native forests, 35 kilometers of coastline, and 2,000 hectares of private nature conservation reserves reflect their commitment to the environment. They have been involved with the Save the Tassie Devil Program since 2006, caring for a wild population of disease-free devils and many other rare species, including Swift Parrots, Wedge-Tailed Eagles, and Sea Eagles. Bangor is carbon positive (storing much more carbon than they use every year), and love sharing stories of their conservation efforts, offering insights into Tasmania’s unique environment.
