Meet a Local: Anna Terry
Just a short coach ride from Launceston, The Truffle Farm Tasmania invites delegates to experience something truly Tasmanian — an authentic blend of agriculture, storytelling and culinary excellence. Set among rolling hills in Deloraine, the farm is not just home to Australia’s first black truffles but also to one of agritourism’s brightest talents, Anna Terry.
For conference and incentive organisers, The Truffle Farm Tasmania offers a memorable off-site experience that connects delegates with the island’s premium produce, sustainability, and innovation. From the moment they arrive, Anna Terry and her truffle dogs lead guests through the orchard on an immersive and sensory journey.
Meet Anna Terry – A Leader in Tasmanian Agritourism
Anna Terry, former Dietician, second-generation truffle farmer and owner of The Truffle Farm in Deloraine, pioneers Australia’s premier truffle agritourism, offering immersive experiences on their historic farm.
In 2025, the farm celebrated its 26th anniversary since the first black truffle was harvested in Australia back in June 1999. A born and bred Tasmanian, Anna developed a taste for the ‘black diamonds of the kitchen’ at a tender young age, and along with her father Tim and brother Henry, helped bring the truffle industry to where it is today. Anna champions agritourism excellence, sharing her family’s legacy and advocating for industry growth nationwide. With Anna leading her team and her trusty four-legged friends (aka truffle dogs!), visitors to the farm can experience hands-on tours and genuine storytelling, delivering an unforgettable journey blending education and adventure while showcasing the farm’s world-class black truffles and premium truffle products.
During 2024, Anna and The Truffle Farm, won Bronze at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards, Gold at the Tasmanian Tourism Awards, and was honoured to receive the Tourism Minister’s Young Achiever Award in 2023. In 2022, Anna received a Tasmanian Young Achiever Award in Tourism and Hospitality. Through innovation and passion, Anna embodies the spirit of Tasmania, inspiring others to explore the rich tapestry of Australian agriculture.
A Taste of Connection
For business event groups, a visit to The Truffle Farm goes beyond a farm tour — it’s an invitation to engage with Lutruwita / Tasmania’s land and people. Delegates learn how the Terry family helped shape the nation’s truffle industry and experience firsthand how agriculture and tourism work hand-in-hand.
Each experience ends with a paddock-to-plate tasting featuring freshly unearthed truffles, local produce, and the farm’s signature truffle ice cream. It’s a celebration of provenance, craftsmanship, and collaboration — and a reminder of why Lutruwita / Tasmania leads the way in authentic event experiences.
By incorporating a visit to Deloraine’s truffle heartland into your next event, delegates won’t just learn about truffles — they’ll uncover the passion, innovation, and local spirit that defines our island state.
