Peppermint Bay sits on the D’Entrecasteaux Channel, 35km south of Hobart in the township of Woodbridge. The architecturally designed building, built in 2003, captures panoramic views of the bay and can be configured to suit any occasion or group size. The grounds extend to the water’s edge, with expansive lawns and a striking building that works equally well for a full conference day or an evening event.
Guests can travel from Hobart by road through scenic rural landscapes, or arrive by catamaran aboard Peppermint Bay II — a one-hour cruise through the Derwent River and D’Entrecasteaux Channel that sets the tone before anyone steps ashore.
Conference
The venue accommodates up to 300 guests standing or 160 seated across two spaces, both with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the channel. Expansive outdoor grounds add flexibility for any program. Peppermint Bay has been hosting corporate events since 2003, working with councils, private companies, and government organisations across Tasmania

Do
Peppermint Bay II is a luxury catamaran purpose-built for comfort, stability, and panoramic viewing across two indoor levels and three outdoor decks.
The River Derwent Cruise runs on selected days — a 90-minute guided exploration of the Derwent’s history, wildlife, and landscapes, with local Tasmanian produce and beverages available on board.
Private Lunch Cruises are available for groups of 40 or more, with a half-day format showcasing the produce, seafood, and landscapes of Australia’s southernmost district.
Eat & Drink
Food is at the core of what Peppermint Bay does. The kitchen draws on fresh seasonal ingredients from the venue’s own garden, alongside local producers from the Huon Valley and beyond. Expect the best of Tasmania’s produce, handled with care and simplicity, paired with outstanding service.
Drinks reflect the same regional identity — locally produced wines, spirits, beers, and ciders. Offerings are tailored to your event, whether that’s a full day of conference catering with an elevated cocktail hour to close, or a curated high tea with freshly baked pastries and fine teas.
Event Services
Every event at Peppermint Bay is supported by a dedicated events team managing logistics from first enquiry through to pack-down. Venue setup and breakdown, white linen, glassware, crockery, and service staff are all included. Basic AV equipment — microphone, lectern, and speakers — is available in-house, with additional technical support available on request.
Transport can be arranged in both directions — catamaran charter from Hobart’s Brooke Street Pier for up to 160 guests, or return coach service for groups of up to 140. On-site parking is limited; transport is recommended.
