The Goods Shed is a renovated railway building and significant part of Macquarie Point’s rich heritage, now host to a range of events, art exhibitions, theatre performances, product launches and expos. The 1914 heritage-listed shed features Oregon roof beams and was originally used for storing goods and has the capacity to hold approximately 1,555 people.
The large interior is adaptable to suit stand up events or three artist green rooms doubling as meeting rooms, all with access to toilets and a shower, a fully functioning catering room, box office and large amenities block.
Macquarie Point is situated along the Hobart waterfront, sitting adjacent to the Regatta Grounds, the Cenotaph and the Queens Domain.
From winter festivals to cultural and art experiences, gardens and permanent businesses such as food vendors and one of Hobart’s best craft breweries, there is always a lot happening at ‘Mac Point’.
